What is the difference between Hub permissions and product permissions?
Hub permissions and product permissions control different parts of a team member's access. Administrators and team members with the Manage team members and groups permission can manage these permissions.
Hub permissions
Hub permissions apply across the Webfactory Hub. They control access to areas such as account settings, billing and team management.
For example, a Hub permission may allow a team member to manage account details or review team settings. It does not automatically give them permission to manage content or settings inside a product.

Product permissions
Product permissions apply to one specific product. They control what a team member can do after they have been allocated a seat for that product.
For example, a Knowledge Base can provide Manage content and Manage settings permissions. The available permissions depend on the product.
Product permissions must be reviewed separately for each product. A permission for one website or service does not apply to another product.
How they work together
- A team member may have Hub permissions without having access to a particular product.
- A team member may have a product seat but only limited permissions inside that product.
- A team member may receive direct permissions and inherited permissions from groups.
- Changing a group permission affects the members of that group, but group membership does not allocate product seats.
