What is the difference between standard and administrator access?
Every team member has either Standard access or Administrator access. This access level affects what they can manage in the Webfactory Hub and inside products.
Standard users can still have management responsibilities. What they can do depends on the account's permissions mode and the permissions they receive. For an overview, read What are Hub permissions?.
Administrator access
Administrators have every Hub and product permission. They can manage account settings, billing, team members, groups and permissions, as well as the actions controlled by permissions within products.
Only an administrator can grant or remove Administrator access. Giving a standard user the Manage team members and groups permission does not make them an administrator or allow them to appoint other administrators.
Standard access
Standard users do not automatically receive every Hub and product permission. Their available actions depend on whether the Hub uses Basic or Advanced permissions mode.
- In Basic permissions mode, standard users receive the standard non-administrator permissions for products where they have a seat. Individual Hub and product permissions cannot be changed.
- In Advanced permissions mode, specific Hub and product permissions can be granted directly to a standard user or inherited through groups. Product permissions are managed separately for each product.

Can a standard user manage the account or team?
Yes. In Advanced permissions mode, a standard user can be given the permissions needed for their responsibilities. For example:
- Manage team members and groups: manage people, groups and product access, without being able to grant or remove administrator access.
- Manage account, billing and upgrading: manage account and billing tasks, product changes and rewards.
- Manage hub settings: manage the account's Hub settings.
A standard user might therefore see Admin tools in their profile menu. Access to these tools does not itself mean they are an administrator.
Product access and permissions are separate
A product seat determines whether a team member can open a product. Permissions determine what they can do inside it. Administrator status and individual permission changes do not replace the need to manage product seats.

Where to check your access
Your profile menu shows your access level. The Permissions tab in Your profile shows your administrator status, Hub permissions and product permissions. For the full steps, see How to review your Hub and product permissions in your profile.
Which access level should you choose?
Use Standard access for team members who need access to selected products or particular management tasks. In Advanced permissions mode, give them the specific permissions their role requires.
Use Administrator access for people who need full Hub and product permissions and responsibility for managing administrator access.
Administrator access grants every Hub and product permission. Only an administrator can grant or remove this access level. Review whether specific permissions in Advanced permissions mode would meet the person's needs before granting full administrator access.
