How to activate SSL for your website
In this article, we'll explain how SSL is activated for a website hosted by Webfactory.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is included with your Webfactory package. You do not need to purchase or provide an SSL certificate, create a Certificate Signing Request (CSR), or send us certificate files. We'll arrange the certificate and activate it for your website.
Check who manages your DNS
If your DNS is managed by us, you do not need to make any changes. We'll complete the setup and activate SSL for you.
If your DNS is managed by another provider, we'll send you the DNS records you need to add.
Add the DNS records
Sign in to the service that manages your DNS and add the records exactly as provided by us. If someone else manages your DNS, send the records to them.
These records allow us to validate your domain and activate SSL.
What happens next
Once the DNS records are in place, we'll validate the domain and activate SSL for your website. DNS changes can take time to propagate, so activation may not be immediate.
