How to set up a custom domain name for your knowledge base
In this article, we'll guide you through the steps of setting up a custom domain name for your knowledge base.
Note that if you wish to use your own domain, the domain should be registered with an external host already.
- Click on the 'Settings' tab.
- Navigate to the 'Custom web address' section.
- Click on the 'Change' button.
- Select Use your own domain and type the full domain name you wish to use, such as:
www.yourdomain.co.uk
. - Click the 'Update address' button. A new message box will appear asking you to add DNS records and provide the DNS records you'll need to update. You can usually do this yourself via your domain host's control panel or your can sometimes send the records to their support teams to make the changes for you.
After making the changes, it may take a few hours for them to take effect, during which time your knowledge base may be temporarily unavailable.
