How to set up Webfactory Mail on other devices/apps

In this article we'll guide you through the steps of setting up Webfactory Mail using the default email settings for general devices/apps. Note that depending on the device or app you’re using, the steps might vary slightly.

If you’d like to set up your Webfactory Mail on Gmail, Mac Mail, Outlook (on Mac or Windows), or on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, check our support article: How to set up your Webfactory Mail on your devices.

You'll need to use the IMAP settings provided below if you're looking to set up your Webfactory Mail on a device or app such as a phone, tablet, or desktop email client like Opera Mail, Thunderbird or Samsung Email, etc.

  1. Open the email application you want to use on your chosen device. Look for an option like ‘Add Account’ or ‘Set up Email’. This is usually found in the device's or app’s 'Settings' menu or under 'Accounts'.
  2. When asked, choose 'Manual setup' or 'Advanced setup' and select IMAP as the account type.
  3. Enter your email address: type the full email address you were provided by Webfactory (e.g. yourname@yourdomain.co.uk).
  4. Enter your password associated with your email account. This is the same password you use to log in via webmail.
  5. Enter IMAP server settings:
    • Incoming Mail (IMAP) server:
      • Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
      • Port: 993 (or 143 if 993 doesn’t work)
      • Encryption: SSL/TLS
      • Authentication: Your full email address and password
      • Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Enabled, if available
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server
      • Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
      • Port: 465
      • Encryption: SSL/TLS
      • Authentication: Your full email address and password
      • Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Enabled, if available
  6. Save your settings. If everything has been entered correctly, you should see a success message and your inbox will begin to sync. If it doesn’t work, double-check your server names, ports, and that SPA is enabled where applicable.
