How to set up Webfactory Mail on Android devices

Please keep in mind that the specific steps may vary slightly depending on the Android device and email app you're using.

Step 1

First, locate and tap on the Gmail app on your Android home screen. If you can't find the Gmail app, you can download it from the Google Play Store.

Step 2

If this is your first time opening the Gmail app, you may be prompted to set up an email account. If you already have an account set up, tap on 'Add another email address'. Alternatively, click on your profile picture and then on 'Add another email address'.

Step 3

On the next screen, click on 'Other'.

Step 4

On the 'Set up email' screen, enter your full email address, then click 'Next'.

Step 5

Select 'Personal (IMAP)'.

Step 6

Then enter your password.

Step 7

Under the 'Incoming server' section, enter the following details:

    1. Username: your full email address.
    2. Password: the password for your email account.
    3. Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    4. Tap 'Next'.
Step 8

Under the 'Outgoing server' section, enter the following details:

    1. Username: your full email address.
    2. Password: the password for your email account.
    3. Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    4. After entering all details, tap 'Next'.
Step 9

You'll now be prompted to adjust your account options. This includes how often you want your device to check for new email and when you want to be notified. Adjust these settings to your preference, then tap 'Next'.

Step 10

The system will now create your account on Gmail.

Step 11

Enter your preferred account name and your name (this is the name that will appear in the 'From' field of your emails).

Step 12

Once you're finished, tap 'Next'.

Your email account should now be successfully added to your Android device, and you can access it via the Gmail app.

Step 1

If you haven’t already, download the Microsoft Outlook app from the Play Store.

Step 2

Open the Microsoft Outlook app on your Android device.

Step 3

If you don’t have an account set up yet, you’ll be prompted to add one. If you already have an account, tap your profile image at the top of the screen.

Step 4

Select 'Add Account'.

Step 5

Enter your Webfactory email address and tap the icon.

Step 6

Select 'IMAP' when asked to choose an account type .

Step 7

Toggle 'Advanced settings' at the bottom of the screen.

Step 8

Type the name you wish to be displayed on your sent messages. Optionally you can describe what the account is for in the 'Description' section e.g. Work.

Step 9

In the 'IMAP Incoming Email Server settings' section.

    1. In the IMAP Hostname filed, type mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    2. In the Port section, enter 993 (or 143).
    3. For Security type, select SSL/TLS.
    4. Enter your IMAP username if not pre-filled already.
    5. Enter your password.
Step 10

In the SMPT outgoing mail server settings.

    1. In the SMTP Hostname field, type mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    2. In the Port section, enter 465.
    3. For Security type, select SSL/TLS.
    4. Enter your SMPT username if not pre-filled already.
    5. Enter your password again.
Step 11

Tap the sign at the top of your screen.

Step 12

You can now add an other account if you wish to or go to your inbox by selecting 'Maybe later'

Step 13

Choose if you wish to turn on notifications.

You should now have access to your Webfactory email in the Microsoft Outlook app for Android.

If you wish to switch between accounts, tap on your profile picture and choose the account you wish to display on the app.
