How to set up Webfactory Mail on other devices and apps

In this article, we'll guide you through the steps of setting up Webfactory Mail using the default email settings for general devices and apps. Note that depending on the device or app you're using, the steps might vary slightly.

If you'd like to set up your Webfactory Mail on Gmail, Mac Mail, Outlook (on Mac or Windows), or on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, check our support article: How to set up your Webfactory Mail on your devices.

If you're setting up your Webfactory Mail on a phone, tablet, or email client such as Opera Mail, Thunderbird, or Samsung Email, you'll need to use the IMAP settings provided below.

Step 1

Open the email application you want to use on your chosen device. Look for an option like 'Add Account' or 'Set up Email'. This is usually found in the device's or app's 'Settings' menu or under 'Accounts'.

Step 2

When asked, choose 'Manual setup' or 'Advanced setup' and select IMAP as the account type.

Step 3

Enter your email address: type the full email address you were provided by Webfactory (e.g. yourname@yourdomain.co.uk).

Step 4

Enter your password associated with your email account. This is the same password you use to log in via Webmail.

Step 5

Enter IMAP server settings:

  • Incoming Mail (IMAP) server:
    • Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    • Port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Authentication: Your full email address and password
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server
    • Server: mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk
    • Port: 465
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Authentication: Your full email address and password
Step 6

Save your settings. If everything has been entered correctly, you should see a success message and your inbox will begin to sync. If it doesn't work, double-check the server names, ports, SSL/TLS settings, full email address and password.

If you're having trouble setting up your email, feel free to contact us or reach out to your device or app provider's support (e.g. Apple, Microsoft, or your mobile provider). We're also happy to check your Webfactory account details with you to ensure everything's correct.
