How to set up Webfactory Mail on MacOS
Please note that the specific steps may slightly vary depending on the MacOS version you're using. If you encounter any difficulties during the setup process, please contact Webfactory or Apple support.
Open the Mail app on your Mac.
Add new email account: If this is your first time using Mail, you'll see a prompt to add an email account. If you're already using Mail with another account, navigate to 'Mail' in the top menu bar > 'Add Account'.
Enter your email address and click 'Continue'.
From the list of email providers, select 'Other Mail Account', then click 'Continue'.
In the pop-up window, enter the following details:
- Name: this is the name that will appear in the 'From' field of your emails.
- Email Address: your full email address.
- Password: the password for your email account.
Click 'Sign In'.
The Mac Mail might not find the email settings automatically, you need to enter them manually:
- Account Type: select 'IMAP'.
- Incoming Mail Server:
mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk - Outgoing Mail Server:
mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk - Password: the password for your email account. The password should already be filled in, if not re-enter your password.
Click 'Sign In'.
Select the apps you would like to use with the new account. Since we'll be using emails, we'll keep the Mail app. If you prefer, you can deselect the Notes app.
Once your choice is made, click the 'Done' button.
At the end of the setup process, you may see a pop-up asking you to choose your Mail Privacy Protection settings. Select your preferred option to continue.
Your email account should now be successfully added to the Mail app on your Mac, and you can access it from the Mailboxes sidebar.
First, open Microsoft Outlook on your Mac.
Add new email account: If this is your first time using Outlook, you'll see a prompt to add an email account. If you're already using Outlook with another account, click on the click the '+' sign in the top left of Outlook and select add new account .
Enter your email information
- In the 'Add an account ' window, enter your full email address, then click 'Continue'.
- You may be presented with an option to sync with Microsoft Cloud, either sign in to your Microsoft cloud account or click the 'Sync directly with IMAP' option.
- Enter your password and click 'Continue'.
Click on the 'Show Advanced Settings' toggle to show additional boxes and complete or update with the following information:
- Email address: your full email address.
- IMAP username: your full email address.
- IMAP password: the your email password.
- IMAP incoming server: 'mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk' and port 993
- SMTP username: your full email address.
- SMTP password: the password we have provided you with.
- SMTP outgoing server: 'mailserver1.webfactory.co.uk' and port 465
- Select from the drop down below both the incoming and outgoing servers the option 'Use SSL to connect'
After entering all details, click 'Add Account'.
You may be prompted to allow the SSL connection. If so click to allow.
Your email account should now be successfully added to Microsoft Outlook on your Mac, and you can access it from the Mail pane.
Always keep your password secure and confidential. Regularly changing it is also recommended for security reasons.
