How to link articles together in your knowledge base

In this article, we'll guide you through the process of linking articles together in your knowledge base.

You can use three methods to link articles together.

Linking articles from the text editor

  1. Click on the 'Content' tab
  2. Find the article you want to link other articles to.
  3. Click on the relevant 'Text content' box within the 'Article'.
  4. Locate where you would like to insert the link. Highlight the text you want to link, then click the link icon , or simply click the button without highlighting text.
  5. Under 'Link type', select 'Article'.
  6. Choose the article you would like to link to.
  7. Click the “Update link” button to apply the changes.

Linking articles from text content.

  1. Click on the 'Content' tab
  2. Find the article you want to link other articles to and set it aside.
  3. Open the article you want to link in a new tab.
  4. Copy the article ID located in the top-left corner of the article.
  5. Go back to the article where you’d like to add the link.
  6. Click on the relevant 'Text content' box.
  7. Locate where you want to place the link.
  8. Use {Text=#article number#} to create a link, which will open in a new tab.
  9. Click on the 'Update' button to save your content.

Linking from the 'Related articles' section.

  1. Click on the 'Content' tab
  2. Find the article you want to link other articles to.
  3. Click on the ' Update' button in the 'Related articles' section
  4. Find the article you wish to link. You can use the search command, either 'Command+f' on MacOS or 'Control+f' on Window, and type the articles keyword to find it.
  5. Select the articles by ticking the box next to it.
  6. Finally, click the 'Update' button at the end of the page.
