In this article, we'll explain the difference between Basic and Advanced permissions in the Webfactory Hub and help you choose the most suitable mode for your team.

Basic permissions

Basic mode provides two fixed access levels:

• Administrator access gives the team member all permissions.
• Standard access gives the team member the standard non-administrator permissions for every product they can access.

Individual Hub and product permissions cannot be changed in Basic mode. This mode is suitable when your team needs a straightforward setup and most non-administrators can use the same standard permissions.

Advanced permissions

Advanced mode gives you more control over what each team member can do:

• Hub permissions can be assigned directly to individual team members.
• Hub permissions can be assigned through groups.
• Product permissions can be assigned to individuals and groups inside the relevant product under 'Settings' > 'Team permissions'.

Only administrators can grant or remove administrator access.

Which mode should you use?

Choose Basic permissions when you want a simple setup with fixed administrator and standard access. Choose Advanced permissions when team members need different levels of access or you want to manage permissions using groups.
