What are user permissions

In this article, we'll provide a brief explanation of what user permissions are.

User permissions enable you to control what your users can do within the Hub and your products.

Only administrator or users with the appropriate permissions to manage users can make changes to the permissions of other users. There are two distinct permission modes available for configuration:

Basic permission mode

With this mode your users are either administrators or standard users. Administrators can perform any action whereas standard users are restricted from accessing critical sections such as billing. If it's only you using your products then this mode would be ideal as requires no configuration. If however you want to have finer control over what each user or group can do, you need to switch to the Advanced permission mode.

Advanced permission mode

With this mode your users are either administrators or standard users but you have more control over what standard users can and cannot do. Administrators always have full access but you can control what each individual user can do in their user profile or control permissions for a group of users in the user group settings.

Please note the distinction between user permissions and product access. User permissions determine what a user can do within a product they've been granted access to, while product access makes the product available to the user.
