Understanding your Domain Guard overview
The Overview page brings together your protected name, domain statuses, website destination and package details. Use it to see which domains are held by Domain Guard and which are still being monitored.
Domain Guard is a domain registration and holding service. Included domains can forward visitors to your chosen website or display a holding page.
Your protected name and package
At the top of the page, you can see the name you are protecting and your current package.
Domain status summary
The summary gives you a quick view of your coverage:
- Domains on your list: the number of domains on your list.
- Secured: domains whose registration, destination and HTTPS are ready.
- Monitoring: domains being watched for availability.
- Needs attention: domains whose registration or setup needs staff review.
Your domains
The Your domains table shows each domain and its progress:
- Domain: the domain name and a short description of its current position. Registered domains may also show their registration date.
- Status: whether the domain is being monitored, registered, set up, secured or managed separately.
- Last checked or manage domain: the latest successful availability check for a monitored domain, or a management link where available.
For details of every status, see What do the Domain Guard statuses mean?.
How often does the information update?
Availability is normally checked every five minutes. The Overview page refreshes every 15 seconds to show the latest information. A page refresh does not mean a new availability check has taken place. Last checked shows the most recent successful availability check.
When a monitored domain becomes available, registration is automatically attempted. Registration is not instant and can take some time; the domain may show Registering while it is processed. We’ll send you an email notification once the domain has been successfully registered. Successful registration cannot be guaranteed.
Website destination
The Website destination area shows where included domains send visitors. To change the shared destination, select Settings, then Website destination.
The destination applies to every domain included in your Domain Guard package. It cannot be set separately for an individual included domain. Domains managed on their own package are unaffected.
For instructions, see How to change your Domain Guard website destination.
Your package
The Your package area shows:
- Your current package.
- The domain endings included in your coverage.
- Your minimum-term end date and the renewal arrangement shown for your subscription.
