How to manage a Domain Guard domain and add email

Domain Guard is a domain registration and holding service. Its management settings let you choose the website destination for all domains included in your package, using forwarding or a holding page.

Select Settings, then Website destination to open the shared destination settings. The destination is set for the whole package, so changing it updates where every included domain points. You cannot set a different destination for an individual included domain. Domains managed on their own package are unaffected.

Email is not included with Domain Guard. To use email with a held domain, contact our customer support team to arrange an upgrade, as explained below.

How to manage the shared website destination

Step 1

Open Domain Guard and select Settings.

Step 2

Select Website destination to open the shared destination settings.

Step 3

Select Change destination and choose your website address or a holding page. Save or confirm your choice using the on-screen options.

Step 4

Check Current destination. The saved destination applies to every domain included in your Domain Guard package.

Adding an email address

To use an email address with a domain held through Domain Guard, contact our customer support team to arrange an upgrade to a full Domain & Email package with Webfactory. The domain will then be billed and managed separately from Domain Guard.

Our customer support team will explain the package details and charges and arrange the upgrade. Once it is complete, manage the domain and email through the separate full domain package.

Step 1

Open Domain Guard and select Overview.

Step 2

Find the domain in Your domains that you would like to use for email.

Step 3

Contact our customer support team and let them know which domain you would like to use. Ask to upgrade it to a full Domain & Email package with Webfactory.

Step 4

Review the package details and charges with our customer support team, who will arrange the upgrade. The domain will then be billed and managed separately from Domain Guard.

Step 5

Once the upgrade is complete, use the separate full domain package to set up and manage your email addresses.

Included and separately managed domains

A domain marked Managed separately or Already yours — managed separately is on its own package rather than included in Domain Guard. A Secured domain included with Domain Guard remains within the holding service.

Keeping a domain when ending Domain Guard

To keep a domain when ending Domain Guard, move it to basic domain hosting without email or to a paid email package first. Included domains cannot be cancelled individually.
