How to keep your domains when ending Domain Guard
If you want to end the service but keep a domain held through it, arrange for that domain to move to a separate package first.
Which package do I need?
- Basic domain hosting without email: for keeping a domain without adding email accounts.
- A full Domain & Email package with Webfactory: for using email addresses with the domain.
Our customer support team can explain the available package details and charges and help arrange the move. Domains on a paid package are billed and managed separately from Domain Guard.
Which domains can I keep?
Ask our customer support team to confirm which domains have been registered and arrange separate packages for those you want to keep. A registered domain may still show Setting up while forwarding or HTTPS is being prepared.
A domain still marked Monitoring has not been registered for you and cannot be moved as a held domain.
Domains marked Managed separately or Already yours — managed separately are already on their own package rather than included in Domain Guard.
What should I check before ending the service?
- Identify every held domain you want to keep.
- Arrange the separate package before ending Domain Guard.
- Review the package charges and ongoing renewal arrangements with our customer support team.
- Check your Domain Guard minimum-term end date in Your package on the Overview and discuss the arrangements for ending your subscription with support.
Included domains cannot be cancelled individually within Domain Guard.
Open Domain Guard and select Overview. Review Your domains and note the domains you want to keep. Ask support to confirm which have been registered, including any still marked Setting up.
Contact our customer support team before ending Domain Guard. Tell them which domains you want to retain and whether you need email.
Review the separate package options, charges and renewal arrangements with support, then arrange for the domains to move to the appropriate package.
Ask support to confirm the domains have moved to their separate packages before completing the arrangements to end Domain Guard.
