How to change your account billing day

Your billing date is when we create invoices for your recurring products. You can change your monthly billing day or annual billing date through Account & billing section in the Hub.

How your billing dates work

You can have some products billed monthly and others billed annually. All monthly subscriptions are billed on the same day each month, while all annual subscriptions are billed on the same date each year.

For example, your monthly products could be billed on the 10th of each month, while your annual products are billed on 10 May each year. Products with the same billing frequency share that frequency's billing date.

For monthly billing, you can choose a day from 1 to 31. For annual billing, choose from the dates available in the Hub. If your chosen billing day does not exist in a particular month, you will be billed on the last day of that month.

How to change a billing date

Step 1

Open your billing settings
Sign in to the Hub and open Account & billing.

Step 2

Choose the date to change
In the Billing day section, choose the option to edit:

  • Your monthly billing day — the day your monthly recurring charges are billed.
  • Your annual billing date — the date your annual recurring charges are billed.
Step 3

Calculate and review the cost
Choose your new date, then click Calculate cost.

  • Review any one-off cost, including VAT where applicable.
  • To compare another date, change your selection and calculate the cost again.
  • Where available, select See how this was calculated to view the dates and full breakdown.
Step 4

Approve the change
Once you are happy with the calculation, follow the relevant approval option:

  • Monthly change with a £0 cost: select Approve billing day change.
  • Monthly change with a cost: select Approve and continue to payment, then use your saved payment method or enter new details.
  • Annual billing-date change: follow the approval and payment options shown in the Hub.

Why might there be a pro-rata cost?

A pro-rata charge covers part of a billing period rather than a full month or year. Moving your billing date may add service days before your next regular invoice. Any one-off cost covers the adjustment needed to align your recurring charges with the new date. The Hub calculates and shows the cost before you confirm.

When does a monthly billing-day change take effect?

If there is no cost, the change takes effect when you approve it. If payment is required, it takes effect when your card payment succeeds or your Direct Debit begins processing.

If a Direct Debit later fails, the new billing day stays in place and the one-off invoice remains due.

For an annual billing-date change, follow the confirmation and payment instructions shown in the Hub.

Switching a product between monthly and annual payments

To change how often a particular product is billed, open its subscription and use Change cycle. Follow the steps in How to change a product's recurring payment cycle.
