How to exclude VAT from your products using variations

In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of excluding VAT from specific products using product variations.

Please note that VAT can only be excluded using Dropdown (Standard) or Image Select variations. This is useful when only certain options of a product should not have VAT applied.

Step 1

In the website editor, select the 'Webshop' tab.

Step 2

Click on the 'Products' section.

Step 3

Find the product you wish to edit and click on it.

Step 4

Click on the 'Variations' tab.

Step 5

If you do not already have a suitable variation, click on the 'Add variation' button.

Step 6

Choose either 'Dropdown' or 'Image select' as the variation type.

Step 7

Open the variation you wish to edit or create your variation options. For example, if you sell children’s and adult tickets, you may wish to exclude VAT from the children’s ticket option only.

Step 8

In the 'Variation price options' section, select 'Exclude item from VAT'.

Step 9

Complete any other variation settings as required.

Step 10

Click the 'Add variation' or 'Update' button to save your changes.

Step 11

Once saved, any variation option configured with the ‘Exclude item from VAT’ setting will not have VAT applied when selected by your customer.
