How to set up an authenticator app for Hub sign-in

In this article, we'll guide you through setting up an authenticator app for your Webfactory Hub sign-in.

An authenticator app generates a time based 6 digit code. When the Hub asks you to verify your identity after entering your password, open your app and enter the current code.

Before you begin, have an authenticator app available, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.

Your organisation may require two-factor authentication. If it does, you cannot select Do not use 2FA.

Step 1

Click your profile image and select Your profile.

Step 2

Open Login & security.

Step 3

Scroll to Two-factor authentication and find Preferred verification method.

Step 4

Select Authenticator app. If you see Your authenticator app is ready, an app is already connected and you can use its six-digit codes.

Step 5

Follow the setup instructions shown in the Hub to add your Hub login to your authenticator app. Keep the setup screen open while you complete the connection.

Step 6

Complete any verification and save or confirmation steps shown in the Hub. Check that Your authenticator app is ready appears and Authenticator app is marked Currently active.

Step 7

When you next sign in and are asked for verification, open your authenticator app, find your Hub entry and enter the current six-digit code.

What to do if:

  • A code is not accepted: use the code for the correct Hub login and enter it before it changes. If it has almost expired, wait for the next code and try again. Check that your device's date and time are set automatically.
  • You lose access to your authenticator app: you can choose email to verify your identity when signing in. Make sure you can access the email account associated with your Hub profile. If you cannot use either method, contact our support team for help.
  • If you change phones: before removing your old app or resetting your old phone, check your authenticator app's transfer or recovery instructions and make sure you can still verify your Hub sign-in. Keep access to your profile email as a fallback.

Keep authenticator setup details and verification codes private. Do not include them in screenshots or send them to anyone.
