How to set up an email aliases
In this article, we'll guide you through the process of setting up email aliases.
Email aliases allow you to create multiple email addresses that all forward to the same mailbox.
- In your Hub, select 'Domain, Email and Hosting' in your product list.
- Click on the 'Email accounts' tab.
- Select the 'Aliases' button next to the the email account you wish to set up aliases for.
- Choose an alias to link to your main mailbox. e.g.
Sales
to forward your incoming emails fromsalesyourdomain.co.uk
tomainmailboxyourdomain.co.uk
. - Save your changes by clicking on the 'Update' button.
- You can start the process again to add more then one aliases.
- To delete an alias click on the red next to the alias in the 'Aliases' editor.
- Aliases do not have their own dedicated mailbox, this means that you can only receive emails through aliases and not send emails. If your reply to an email your received via your alias, it will use your main email address.
- Aliases are useful if you'd like to sort out your incoming mail in your main mailbox, for instance your can set up multiple alias for each department. e.g. Sales, Accounting, Contact, etc.
