How to update your email account password

In this article, we'll guide you through updating an email account password. Your email account password is separate from your Webfactory Hub password.

Use the method that applies to you:

  • Use the Webfactory Hub if you have administrator access or the required permission to manage email passwords.
  • Use webmail if this is your own email account and you know its current password.

If you have forgotten the email account password and cannot change it through the Hub, ask an account administrator to reset it for you.

Changing an email password through the Hub

Step 1

In the Webfactory Hub, select 'Email, Domain and Hosting'.

Step 2

Select 'Email accounts' to see the accounts associated with your domain.

Step 3

Find the email account and click 'Change password'. If this option is not available, ask an account administrator or a team member with the required permission to make the change.

Step 4

Enter the new password and click 'Change password'.

Changing your own password via webmail

Step 1

Go to https://webmail.webfactory.co.uk.

Step 2

Sign in to your email account using its current password.

Step 3

Open Settings using the icon.

Step 4

Select 'Password' and enter a new password.

Step 5

Click 'Save' to confirm the change.

If you have forgotten your current password, select 'Forgotten password' on the webmail sign-in page and follow the instructions.

If you still have difficulty changing the password, contact our support team by live chat or phone.

Create a strong password by combining upper and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters and a length of at least 8 characters. You should avoid using the same password across your accounts you have with other companies as a breach with one company will make all your accounts insecure.
