How to set up and a holding page
In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of setting up and customising your holding page using the available settings.
The holding page feature allows you to display a temporary branded page while your website is under construction, being updated, or temporarily closed. Instead of showing an incomplete site, visitors will see a customised message letting them know your website will be live soon.
Accessing the holding page settings
- From the website editor, click on the 'Content' tab.
- Then, navigate to the 'Holding page' section.
Settings Overview
- Holding page settings
- Enable holding page: toggle this option on to activate your holding page. When enabled, all website visitors will be directed to the holding page until you turn it off or launch your full site.
- Social media links: choose whether to display your social media icons on the holding page. These links are pulled from your social media settings.
- Logo options
- Logo image: upload your company’s logo to appear at the top of the page.
- Text logo: alternatively, use a text-based logo, typically your business name.
- Colours: customise the look and feel of your holding page with your brand’s colours:
- Brand colour: the primary colour used for buttons or highlights.
- Background colour: the overall background of the page.
- Text colour: colour for headings, body text, and other written content.
- Fonts
- Font: select a font style that best represents your brand identity.
- Font size: adjust the text size for clarity and visual appeal.
- Content
- Title: this is the main heading that appears below your logo. Example: 'Our Website is Coming Soon!'
- Text: add a message or brief description to let visitors know what’s happening. Example: 'We’re working hard behind the scenes. Stay tuned for our launch!'
- After customising your holding page, make sure to click the 'Update settings' button to apply all changes.
