How to enable or disable website visitor reporting

In this article, we'll guide you through turning your website's built-in visitor reporting on or off in the Website Manager.

Enable reporting is switched on by default and allows Webfactory's built-in reporting to record visits to your website.

When you switch reporting off, new visits are no longer recorded by the built-in reporting. Your website overview and the Hub's visitor widget display Reporting is disabled.

Step 1

Open the Website Manager for the website you want to manage.

Step 2

Select Settings, then General.

Step 3

Scroll to the Reporting section at the bottom of the page.

Step 4

Set Enable reporting to your preferred option:

  • Switch it on to record visits using Webfactory's built-in reporting.
  • Switch it off to stop new visits being recorded by the built-in reporting.
Step 5

Select Update settings to save your change.

Enable reporting only controls Webfactory's built-in visitor reporting. It does not disable third-party tools such as Google Analytics or tracking code you have added separately.

Turning off built-in reporting does not mean that your website uses no cookies or collects no data through other features or tools. Review any third-party tracking separately when preparing information about your website's cookies and data collection.

You can switch Enable reporting back on at any time to resume recording visits. Visits made while reporting was switched off were not recorded and cannot be added to the reports afterwards.

You can also use Google Analytics separately from the built-in reporting. See How to add Google Analytics to your website.
