How to lock a website page with a password
In this article, we'll guide you through the steps of adding a password to one of your website pages.
This might prevent anyone without access from seeing the page.
- Go to your website editor.
- Click on 'Content' then 'Pages'.
- Find the page you'd like to lock and go to the page settings represented by the icon.
- In the "lock page" tab you can set one or multiple passwords (e.g. if you'd like to have multiple users with different passwords) to protect the page. You can also add text to be shown on the page before users enter the page's password if one is set.
- Click on 'Update settings' to save the changes.
If your password protects a parent page with sub pages under it, all the sub pages will be locked with the same password. There is no need to set a password on each page individually.
If you’d like to password protect your entire site, you can use the 'User Access Control' feature within your site settings. This allows you to create usernames and passwords that users must enter before they can access any of your pages.
