How to lock a website page with a password
In this article we'll guide you through the process of adding a password to one of your website pages. This will prevent anyone without access from seeing the page.
- Go to your website editor.
- Click on 'Content' then 'Pages'.
- Find the page you'd like to lock and go to the page settings.
- In the "lock page" tab you can set one or multiple passwords (e.g. if you'd like to have multiple users with different passwords) to protect the page. You can also add text to be shown on the page before users enter the page's password if one is set.
- Click on 'Update settings' to save the changes.
If you password protects a parent page with child pages under it, all the child pages will be locked with the same password. There is no need to set a password on each page individually.
Tip:
If you want to password protect the whole site, you can use 'User access control' in your site's settings, which will enable you to set up usernames and passwords that a user will need before they can see any of your pages.
